Evaluation of Acute Pancreatitis Patients: Single Center Five Years’ Experience

ABSTRACT Aim: In the present study, purpose was to examine clinical and laboratory characteristics of patients diagnosed with Acute Pancreatitis in a third-line Children’s Emergency Department, draw attention importance differential diagnosis children admitting abdominal pain. Materials Methods: The child who were acute pancreatitis at Çukurova University Faculty Medicine, Department Pediatric Medicine for period 5 years included study. divided into two groups as Recurrent Pancreatitis. data examined retrospectively. risk factors determined according Modified Ranson Criteria. Results: A total 53 had attacks 116 times. mean age 10.6±4.4 (minimum: 0.5, maximum: 17.5), 28 (52.8%) girls, 22 (41.5%) ≥2 attacks. etiology could not be 20 (38%) patients, hyperlipidemia detected 10 (18.8%). Conclusion: should considered Departments pain, awareness about subject increased. Keyword: Pancreatitis, Abdominal Pain.
